Our job in New Market was a Bradford pear in a fenced backyard, removed and chipped, with the lift going in on a marked path over ground protection mats because the tree stood at the rear of the property. Bradford pear is the one species we can tell you about before we ever see it. UT Extension’s own publication states that it easily splits during wind storms: the limbs all leave the trunk at a narrow angle with bark caught in the union, and one gust takes half the crown.
