Seven trees came down across two properties here. The estimate was split into four parts because the homeowner asked for it that way, which let them take the two trees threatening the roof first and leave the lower-priority ash for later.

The septic line set the drop direction before anything else was decided. It runs underneath the far side of the gravel driveway, so the first two trees had to come down away from the house and away from the drive, with no option to swing either one toward the open ground. The smaller trees downhill of the far tree were cut first to clear the landing.

  • Part 1. Two trees in front of the house, either of which could have reached the roof. Cut to 10-foot lengths, left with the homeowner, brush separated out.
  • Part 2. A large tree leaning at the near corner of the house. Taken out on the lift, cut to 10-foot lengths, brush separated.
  • Part 3. A large dead oak beside the woodshop, midway up the drive. The building on one side and the power lines on the other left nowhere to fell it, so it came apart on the lift.
  • Part 4. A large ash alongside the neighboring driveway, plus three smaller trees in front of it. Lift again, cut to 10-foot lengths.

The driveway was the real constraint. Steep, gravel, and more than the truck could reliably tow in one pass, so the estimate went out with a condition written into it: if the trailers and the gear could not be got where they needed to be, the job did not happen. Retaining walls closed the working room down further.

Lift, chip truck, chipper, saws, climbing and rigging gear, ground protection mats. Wood cut to length and left on site.
